About us

Placing people at the
heart of school performance.

Our Vision

Education transformed through better decisions, better school workforces and better student outcomes.

Our Story

PeopleBench has emerged over a long journey working with educators on Organisational Strategy, Design and Change Management in schools and schools systems across Australia.

In 2013, while engaged in a body of work which had reach across nearly 8 000 staff and more than 70 000 students, we became aware that many of the workforce research insights and benchmarking tools available to other sectors were not, in fact, available to school and system leaders in Education.

Established in 2017 as a research project by J&G Consulting, we have worked with innovative and forward thinking school systems to combine our decades of experience in consulting and workforce advisory, with their real world and academic knowledge of the sector to seek new workforce related answers to the big question: how do we optimise outcomes for students?

Our 2017/18 research collaboration investigated the relationships between workforce variables and student outcomes in 22 000 students and nearly 3 000 staff across a wide range of schools sizes, locations and socioeconomic demographics. The work produced a range of insights to be used by Principals in participating schools, helping to inform their ongoing workforce strategy and planning for the future. The point of all this effort? Creating and using an evidence base to build better school workforces – ultimately to achieve better outcomes for and with their students.

In 2019, PeopleBench opened its doors to all schools across Australia.

Together we are harnessing the power of collaboration, professional diversity and scale to help school leaders everywhere make better decisions about their workforce for tomorrow.

The PeopleBench Manifesto

We believe that students deserve the best teachers we can gift them; and that teachers deserve the best workplaces we can create – so they can show up and be at their best, every day.
